About Shawnee Adventurers Guild

The Shawnee Adventurers Guild is a nonprofit tabletop role-playing community dedicated to bringing people together through imagination, storytelling, and shared adventure. Founded in Shawnee, Oklahoma, our mission is to create a safe, welcoming, and collaborative environment where players and Dungeon Masters of all experience levels can explore fantasy worlds, develop their creativity, and build meaningful connections with others.

Our community operates using a shared-world West Marches structure: many Dungeon Masters, many players, and one evolving world shaped by the choices of its adventurers. This open format allows players to join sessions that fit their schedule, experience a living world that changes over time, and take part in a constantly expanding tapestry of quests, NPCs, factions, and places. Each session contributes to the ongoing story of our homebrew realm, Hexoria, and every adventurer leaves their mark.

The Guild believes in the power of tabletop role-playing games as a form of informal community education. Through interactive storytelling, players practice teamwork, problem-solving, creative writing, communication, and strategic thinking. Newcomers are supported by experienced players and Dungeon Masters who help them learn the rules, develop characters, and feel empowered to participate. We see Dungeons & Dragons not only as a game, but as a tool for personal growth, confidence building, and positive social engagement.

Accessibility and inclusivity are central to our mission. We strive to ensure that everyone—regardless of background, identity, or experience—has a place at the table. Our Code of Conduct emphasizes respect, safety, and kindness. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior have no place in our community. We maintain clear venue expectations and safety guidelines so that all participants can enjoy the game in a supportive environment.

Dungeon Masters play a vital role in our organization. Through our DM Council, they collaborate on worldbuilding, coordinate major events, maintain continuity, and ensure that the shared setting remains consistent and enjoyable for everyone. We provide resources, training, and support for new and experienced DMs, encouraging them to develop their craft and contribute to the vibrancy of the world.

The Guild also serves as a hub for related creative pursuits. Members share artwork, writing, homebrew content, maps, crafting projects, and worldbuilding ideas. We host one-shots, campaigns, workshops, introductory sessions for new players, community meet-ups, and collaborative events. As we grow, we aim to expand our offerings to include public events, charity games, educational workshops, and partnerships with local venues and organizations.

Above all, we are a community built on friendship, storytelling, and the simple joy of gathering around a table—virtual or in-person—to create something memorable together.
